Volkswagen batalkan pembangunan transmisi DSG 10-kelajuan

Volkswagen telah membuat keputusan untuk membatalkan pembangunan transmisi DSG 10-kelajuan yang pernah direncanakan di Simposium Automotif Vienna 2013.

Alasan Volkswagen ekoran pembatalan ini ialah ia melibatkan kos pelaburan yang terlalu mahal dan juga bersifat kompleks.

Menurut sumber Volkswagen, “Keputusan ini dilakukan selepas menilai semula keutmaan kami sama ada transmisi atau keperluan lain yang lebih penting dan juga perlu disegarakan.”

Dalam Simposium Automotif Vienna 2013, Volkswagen pernah membayangkan transmisi ini adalah bagi model Golf GTi Mk8 generasi akan datang serta Golf R 400. Penambahan gear DSG ini adalah untuk memberikan nisbah yang lebih pendek untuk gear satu dan dua secara serentak.
